2. Learning styles
Short note on learning styles :
- Well, I'm not that good in studies but I can give you tips that my lecturer, Ms. Asmidar shared with us during my first lesson in class is that everyone have different type of understanding and that's why different people have different type of learning styles. There's 4 type of learning styles, visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic. As for someone who is a visual learner, they have to watch demonstrations or example in learning something. As for someone who is an auditory learner, they can learn and understand something much easier with hearing. As for someone who is a tactile learner, they like to take notes, draw or doodle to remember stuffs or important information. Last but not least, as for someone who is a kinesthetic learner, they learn through moving stuff or doing practical. So these are the types of learning styles that were categories in specific way.
My own learning styles :
- Like I said before, I'm not that good in studies but I still have my own learning styles. So, after 6 years studies ( not included primary school because I don't know what I've been particularly learning during that time, LOL ), I have verified my learning skills through how I study and exam result marks which shows how much effective is my learning skills. Anyway, in order to get high marks in exam, we have to put all our effort first, then we can argue why our result still bad, because in my situation, I had gotten bad results because I'm lazy, well not all the time but I would say my laziness rate is 99.99%, joking, LOL, but yeah, even thought I'm lazy, when things got me hyper, all my laziness vanish straight away, like when I'm doing this assignment right now. So, what I realize is that my learning styles consist all of the above learning styles I have state, just that some of it got way better than the others depend on situation. For example, after graduate from school, I got myself a job as a barista. So, how did I learn to do coffees and frappuccino for customer? My co-workers help me in memorizing how to make the ideal coffee or frappuccino by giving guidance. The guidance consist of visual and auditory learning styles. In making coffees and frappuccino, they don't just finish without you brewing them. So, in process of making the drink, as a barista, you're the one that have to make the things work. Now, the process of learning how to make the right coffees and frappuccino included kinesthetic learning style as well. Here's some bonus, in where I was working, we need to mark the customer drink on the cup, plus putting customer name on the cup, this to differentiate the different of one drink from others. When time pass by about a week, I memorize all the drinks and its label or marking for all the drinks. So, in my experience of learning how to become a barista at my workplace also consist tactile learning style. Yeah, that's how my learning styles work on me with efforts come within.
